My Grandma Gloria’s Sweet Caramelized Baked Beans by Chrissy Conte

Baked Beans
Prep Time:
  20 minutes    
Cook Time:
  6 hours with slow cooker
3 hours in oven
   
Yield:
  12 servings    
Ingredients and amounts:
  • Approximately 50 oz of canned bake beans of your choice
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 of a white onion, finely chopped
  • 1 pound of bacon

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F or slow cook on low

Drain baked beans and pour them into crock-pot or pan.  Add molasses, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the finely chopped onion.  Stir until mixed well.

Slightly cook the bacon and cover the top of the beans with the slightly cooked bacon.

Cook on low in the crock-pot for at least 6 hours or for 3 hours in the oven at 350 degrees F.
